The scribbly marks found on some species of Australian eucalypts are created by the tiny larvae of the scribbly gum moth (Ogmograptis species). The larvae tunnel and feed on the tree's tissue and the tracks they make only appear when the tree sheds its bark. Each type of moth has her own unique signature. I find these drawings of nature very mysterious and beautiful.
