My creative practice has encompassed photography, projection, sound, video, and installation to explore a dynamic sense of place, voice, time and travel across changing political and cultural contexts. Abstract printing using cyanotype techniques and street photography have become major fields of focus in my current photographic practice.
As an educator, my professional career over five decades has spanned teaching in schools and technical education. I worked in the university sector for many years teaching, doing research projects, and designing multimedia content & online learning in collaboration with other academics. I very much enjoy working with students of all ages and from diverse cultural backgrounds. My qualifications include a Master of Education (by research) and two practice-led PhDs in creative media.
In collaborations with other artists, I've worked in diverse locations within Australia and internationally in the UK, India, Indonesia and Portugal. For part of each year 2023-26, I've undertaken artist residencies in Portugal - in the Algarve, Lisboa and Barcelos. Originally from Brisbane, I've lived in various places including many years in regional NSW and in Tasmania. I am now based in Canberra.
